Holiday Vacation day Weekend
How the planner works
Public holidays that fall on a working day give you a free day. When a holiday is on a Thursday, one vacation day on the Friday gives you four days off in a row. The planner checks every holiday in the year and finds these bridge days for you.
Your best plan uses the vacation days you enter so that you get as many days off in a row as possible. It only plans breaks next to a holiday or a full week off, not single Fridays.
Regional holidays
Some holidays apply only in one state or region, like Corpus Christi in parts of Germany. Choose your state to include them. Holidays come from an open public holiday database and are checked again every month.
Holidays of your faith
If you celebrate Orthodox Christmas, Eid or Rosh Hashanah, add your faith's holidays. In some countries, for example Croatia, the law gives you the right to take these days off. Elsewhere, treat them as days you plan to take anyway.
Questions
What is a bridge day?
A working day between a public holiday and the weekend. If you take it off, the holiday and the weekend join into one long break.
How many days off can I get from 10 vacation days?
It depends on the country and the year. In many European countries 10 days of leave placed around Easter, May holidays and Christmas give 25 to 35 days off in a row. Enter your country to see your number.
Does the planner include regional holidays?
Yes. Choose your state or region and its holidays are added. If you leave it on the whole country, only national holidays count.
Can I add the plan to my calendar?
Yes. Use Add to my calendar to download an .ics file that works with Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar.
